Andy – Beijing

“original Sydneysider living in China is all digital and all bicycle.”

Why do you ride?

Fitness, makes you feel good and in Beijing it’s faster than driving most of the time.

Best thing about cycling?

Everyone can do it: it’s like riding a bike.

What improvements would you like to see for cyclists?

Greater driver awareness

Fondest cycling memory?

Getting my training wheels taken off.

Cycling tip?

You’ll be safer on the road if you ride with confidence and give yourself some room (don’t ride in the gutter, it just invites cars to try and pass you at inappropriate moments).

3 things you’d love the world to know about you?

– I founded dabaoge.net, which creates documentary-style music videos of indie bands from China

– I just accepted a new job as Head of Digital for Greenpeace East Asia

– I travelled around the world wearing only my pyjamas back in 2004
