“32 year old, legal eagle who works like a battery hen, no longer gets her fresh air from pulling the roof down on her convertible”
Why do you ride?
I wanted to do a little bit of exercise and I didn’t really want to commit to going out and buying a bike if I actually thought maybe this wasn’t something I wanted to do on a regular basis.
Best thing about cycling?
Melbourne Bike Share makes it really easy for me. If I’m at work and I feel like I want to get out and do something and I’ve only got 30-45mins, the bike share rack is right in front of my office, I can just go downstairs, get on a bike and go have a ride down the yarra river, around the docklands area, and I feel like I’ve done some exercise for the day.
What improvements would you like to see for cyclists?
Because I’m not a regular bike rider and I’ve only just started to do this, with all thetraffic in the city, I do get a bit worried about all the cars and all the traffic. It doesn’t seem like people are very nice or accepting of bike riders or cyclists.
Fondest cycling memory?
Can’t think of one.
Cycling tip?
Spend as little time as possible on a main roads and use the bike tracks to build confidence if you’re new to city cycling.
