Why do you ride?

I have always loved riding a bike. It is beautifully simple technology and environmentally benign but brings such a sense of freedom.

Best thing about cycling?

Nothing beats the exhilaration of a downhill ride – after the hard work and achievement of getting to the top.  The rush of wind through my helmet is the perfect reward!

What improvements would you like to see for cyclists?

Better road design and more community awareness to improve safety for cyclists, especially those of us who use our bikes as serious, purposeful transport.

Fondest cycling memory?

Cycle touring with my three kids and partner along quiet roads in country South Australia.

Cycling tip?

You absolutely don’t need to wear lycra to be a cyclist!

3 things you’d love the world to know about you?

– I love kids.

– I’m good at Scrabble.

– I can still ride up some pretty big hills without stopping!
